The Route & Rules 

Explore the route, road trip rules, and various required checkpoints from around the state of Wisconsin

Road Trip Rules

  • Only fully Electric Vehicles (EV) can be used for this event. No hybrids or plug-in-hybrids. 

  • Each group of drivers has to supply their own EV with one car per group. 

    • This event is open to residents of any state. ​

  • Obey the posted speed limit, and other traffic laws, at all times. â€‹â€‹

  • Each group MUST check in at each checkpoint.

  • At each checkpoint, your team will take a photo with the location in the background, post it to the official road trip Facebook page (more info to follow), tag the business on your social medias, and then continue to the next checkpoint.   

  • The entry fee is $50 per person (each driver pays the entry fee). Vehicle charging, lodging, food, etc. will be done at your own cost.  

  • All drivers must have a valid drivers license, the car must have current insurance, and all participants must obey all Wisconsin laws along your route. 

  • A raffle will be held for 2 free one year memberships to the Electric Vehicle Association. Winners will be announced at the finish line reception diner.

Starting Point

The event will begin in Madison. Registration begins at 7am. Opening comments at 8am with the driving beginning promptly at 8:30am. We will drive counter-clockwise around the state, stopping at each checkpoint. At the end of the first day we will have a free EV car show in Wausau (time/location TBD).  

Finish Line 

The event concludes in Downtown Madison on Saturday August 10th, 2024 with a reception diner at 5pm (location TBD). At the diner we will announce the winner of the raffle, and discuss the event.  

After you sign up, please contact the event organizer (Jeremiah) at wisceva@gmail.com and provide the following information: Your name, the vehicle you'll be using, how many people you think will be in your group, and their names. Each member of your team should bring a copy of their confirmation receipt to registration on the morning of August 9, 2024. You may also sign up the morning of the 9th at registration. Just bring a checkbook and you will get a receipt.  

Day One Route 

Leave Madison at 8:30am; Kenosha; Sheboygan; Green Bay; Wausau. In Wausau we will host a free EV car show in the evening. Map and further details will be added soon. 

Day Two Route

Leave Wausau around 8:30am; Eau Claire; Onalaska; Prairie du Chien; end in Madison for a reception diner at 5pm. Map and further details will be added soon.
